Project Background
Leveraging its professional capability in fire-fighting equipment, Datong Ningxin Huida won the bid for the fire prevention and fire-fighting product package of the Ulanqab data centre. The main computer room sits in a long-term high-temperature (25±2°C), high-humidity (40%–60% RH) environment and must withstand continuous vibration generated by equipment operation, so the fire protection system has to run 24/7 without failure.
Technical Challenges
The data centre fire protection system must operate 24/7 without failure, while its components also sit in a long-term high-temperature, high-humidity environment subject to continuous vibration from equipment operation.
A fire door has to resist fire for a defined period without penetration, yet hinges, locks and closers must resist corrosion in a humid environment while still opening with the effort a person can apply under load.
Fire shutters span up to 18 metres, and the positioning accuracy and sealing performance after installation directly affect the effectiveness of the fire compartment.
Our Solution
-
Graded product system
Grade A fire doors use 1.2mm cold-rolled steel sheet frames and 0.8mm leaf panels with A1-class rock wool (density ≥80kg/m³), rated at over 1.5 hours. Grade B doors use a 50mm leaf filled with inorganic core by fully automatic mechanical spraying, with electrostatic powder coating. Premium-grade shutters use a double-track, double-curtain structure in 0.8mm galvanized sheet with ceramic fibre blanket, rated over 3.0 hours. Inorganic cloth shutters weigh only one third of a steel shutter yet withstand ≥500N impact without damage.
-
Targeted detail design
Fire door hinges are 304 stainless steel with a nickel-plated surface (≥0.25μm), tripling corrosion resistance; the rock wool is treated with a hydrophobic agent. Anti-seismic limiting devices are fitted to shutter guide rails, and slat joints use a dual riveting and spot-welding process, so nothing detaches even under 8-magnitude seismic loading.
-
Three-fold assurance mechanism
A displacement sensor inside the door closer monitors leaf status (opening angle, closing speed) and uploads via NB-IoT to the fire control centre with automatic early warning. The shutter control uses dual power supply (mains plus backup lithium battery) with switching within 0.1 seconds, still completing more than five open-close cycles on power loss.
-
100% pre-shipment fire testing
Every fire door undergoes 100% fire resistance testing before leaving the factory — heated to 1000°C in a combustion furnace with no penetration for 90 minutes. Fire shutters pass 1,000 opening-closing fatigue tests. All products hold CCC mandatory certification (Certificate No. E345678) with type-test reports from nationally accredited third-party institutions.
